- Staying dry for at least 2 hours at a time
- Being able to follow simple instructions
- Having regular bowel movements
- Wakes up in the morning with dry diapers
- Shows interest in wearing underwear
- Ask to use the potty
- Able to pull pants up and down
- Imitates parents or older siblings using the toilet
- Expresses the need to go potty or indicates that he or she just has
- Irritated when diapers are wet or soiled
Once your child starts showing these signs it's time to start introducing the idea of potty training to him. For ideas on introducing potty training to your child please read our article on "Preparing Your Child for Potty Training".
